There are many sites on the web that offer free information and lessons and this is one of them. It is terrific that musicians now have such rich sources of information a mouse-click away. Having said that, it is still true that the greatest progress is made by a one-on-one relationship with a teacher. A good teacher will help you to avoid bad habits and will be able to target your lessons in a way to help you reach your goals in the shortest amount of time. A teacher will be able to share his or her real world experiences as they apply to the music you are playing. A teacher will provide focus and help you set realistic expectations for your progress. Good luck. I hope you find the lesson material here helpful. I expect to add some more lessons during the fall. If you would like to have some information about a specific area of study then E-mail me and I will consider it. Some of the material I expect to cover will be scales and arpeggios. The scales will include (major, natural minor, harmonic minor, melodic minor, diminished, pentatonic, etc.). They will cover the whole neck of the guitar and include suggested fingerings.
